They/themAbout me
Mykey Pederson, hair artist
Yes, it's said like Mikey. I use they/them. I cut and color hair in Seattle, and I come to you.
How I got here
I'm a hair artist. For the three COVID years I taught at Gene Juarez, and teaching changed how I cut. I think a lot about why a shape works, not just how to get there. That comes with me to every appointment, so if you want to know what I'm doing and why, ask. I like explaining it.
I like doing hair where people are comfortable. For some folks that means no bright lights and no crowd. For others it's the kid napping down the hall. I show up with my kit, set up wherever the light's good, and clean up before I go. Nobody's rushing, including me.
I'm queer, and so is this business. I'll use the right name and pronouns, and I cut straight, curly, coily, fine, and thick hair. I'm setting up a regular spot for people who'd rather come to me. Until it's ready, house calls are how you book.
I'm a former Rudy's stylist, so some of you know me from there. I've moved on and run my own appointments now.
How I work
- House calls only, for now.
- I bring the tools and good company. You bring a chair, a mirror, and a floor that's easy to sweep.
- Want it quiet? Tell me and it's quiet.
- New color starts with a consult.
- You hear the price before I start.
